GOP, you know McCoy just started his own label and first release is show with Lovano and McBride in his band. I've posted before about McCoy, but one of the few artists that ever caused me to see bands of color while playing - and I was completely sober/clearheaded. Ahmad Jamal did same for me once years later.

And I saw Elvin Jones once at Village Vanguard years ago - of course, too young to have caught Trane with them, but if could go back in time, and had to choose between them and 68-69 boys, I'd probably choose the former (until I realized there were no hippy chicks).

Just a little tangent: I like 'Breaking Point' by Freddie Hubbard (1964). The last song reminds me of the somber parts of Blues for Allah.
